Another fun Movie quiz, this time ganked from [profile] spud31

1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed. * I will be screening comments until after work tomorrow night, so there won't be spoilers.
5. NO GOOGLING / using IMDb search functions. Totally cheating, you dirty cheaters.

I put a couple of easy ones in there, but I have obscure taste in movies (although, if you took my other movie meme quizzes, you may recognize a few favorite titles). I am also "old" so there are films from many decades in here. I also like foreign films, but I did try to pick the more famous ones.

Good luck!

EDIT: The results are in, and as promised, the answers, and your guesses behind the cut.

1. He has a wife, you know. Her name? Incontinentia Buttocks.
Monty Python's Life of Brian

2. No time for the old in-out, love, I've just come to read the meter.
A Clockwork Orange

3. Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!
The Day The Earth Stood Still

4. Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room.
Dr Strangelove (here's a hint - I seem to prefer Kubric films - there's 2 of them in the list)

5. Hmm... Murdered by pirates, a heart torn out and eaten, meet Victoria... Can't quite decide which sounds more fun...
Stardust (the newest film of the batch)

6. Now watch closely, everyone. I'm going to show you how to kill a god. A god of life and death. The trick is not to fear him.
Princess Mononoke

7. What's the use of worrying about your beard when your head's about to be taken?
Seven Samurai (I admit, this one was very hard)

8. O Great King Nod, have no fear. Zigzag, your grand vizier is here!
The Thief and The Cobbler (an old animated film that is absolutely brilliant and one that my daughter made me watch every time we visited my parent's house - she got this quote; even if nobody here did)

9. Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!
Yellow Submarine (animated by the same fellow that later went on to do #8 above - one reason why it's so good - it's very visually reminiscent of YS)

10. The pit is completely enclosed. And it's full of leathery objects, like eggs or something.
Alien (most of you got this one)

11. Nuke 'em from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
Aliens

12. Put these on. Your identity is your most valuable possession. Protect it. And if anything goes wrong, use your powers.
The Incredibles

13. We've got a blind date with Destiny - and it looks like she's ordered the lobster.
Mystery Men (it was really hard to just pick one quote from that movie - it's full of great lines)

14. You don't even care where that other missile is headed, do you?
Of course I do. I know exactly where it's headed. Hackensack, New Jersey.
Superman (Christopher Reeve version)

15. You're not the devil. You're practice.
Batman Begins (to give equal time to a modern superhero flick)

well, this was fun, and thanks for playing!

4. Dr. Strangelove
5. Stardust
9. I'm sure I know it... but damned if I can remember
12. The Incredibles

yes to all 4.

However, the Aliens quote wasn't in the IMDB list (stupid IMDB) but it's the best quote. Ever.

well, good guess! :p

I suppose I should have gone with a Blue Meanie or Max quote for Yellow Submarine, but I didn't want to make it too obvious.

2 - A Clockwork Orange
3 - The Day The Earth Stood Still
4 - Dr. Strangelove (BEST LINE in the entire movie)
10 - Alien
11 - Aliens (I prefer the "They can BILL ME!" line)

From: [identity profile] voxwoman.livejournal.com
You are, of course, correct with all your picks.

I don't remember the "bill me" line from Aliens, tho, but I can believe it.

And good one for recognizing Clockwork Doorhinge :)

Ripley: Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.
Hudson: Fuckin' A!
Burke: Hold on one second. This facility has a substantial dollar value attached to it.
Ripley: They can BILL me!

I can't believe I didn't get 6, 12, and 15.
