and the next thing on my list
Jan. 25th, 2009 10:44 pmNow to reupholster my couch. I got enough fabric to do it at the local fabric warehouse store during one of their 50% sales - the fabric wound up being something like 2 dollars / yard of a nice geometric brocade, so I only spent something on the order of 30 dollars for the fabric - and 80 dollars for the foam! (that was NOT on sale, unfortunately, and I also got the denser, higher priced "upholstery foam", because we spend a lot of time sititing on that couch). With the piping and the batting (I discovered that foam cushions have a layer of batting to make them more comfortable) and the other things I needed, redoing the couch will cost me slightly under 200 dollars (and I supply the labor, of course). This couch is the one my parents bought when they got married, and it's slightly older than I am. This is the 4th or 5th time it's been redone. It's a 4-seater, very long, and they don't make 'em like that anymore.
There will be photos as that project progresses, too..
