The Associated Press released this news item about the Wisconsin Attorney General refusing to defend the state with regards to recent legislation providing gays and lesbians certain rights/privileges with regards to their domestic partners.

The governor blasted Van Hollen's decision, saying the law is defensible. He released a copy of a memo from University of Wisconsin law professor David Schwartz that found the law did not conflict with the marriage amendment.
