Pukey the Clown

That's the name of the essay portion of one of my websites (the main address is www.wendysgaragesale.com), but the actual essay pages will be here.

I've decided to put my ramblings there rather than here in LJ land because I have complete control over my own webspace and I can keep rights to my material there (there's no TOS except with my web host), and I won't be worried if my daughter (or more to the point, her friend's parents) sees it. But I'm posting about it here, too, because there are no facilities for comments there, and I don't plan to install any. Nyah.

But it's the first real writing I've done in ages. Yeah, it's short, but it's writing, and not just stream of consciousness that I usually do here.

Yeesh! I remember that year too. It was the last year my parents were married and they went out to a party at the American Legion while my sister and I stayed home, made punch and got drunk for the first time. The neighbor kids were over at our house because we were unsupervised. Woo hoo! I remember very little of the festivities after about three glasses of punch spiked with vodka. It couldn't have been very wild; we were in the boonies in Indiana and there were no boys.
