Here is a virtual tour of the house we are now under contract to buy. I'm getting excited, even though we have so much work ahead of us, it's not funny. I have basically used up all my "free time" for the next year or so.

What's not shown is the basement (half is finished, and the half-bath is an actual half bath, and not a toilet in the basement, like here), and the unfinished attic, into which we plan to put a master suite (with the Bathroom Of My Dreams, or At Least As Close As I Can Get With The Money I Have).

And we still have to get this place on the market. So, back to cleaning/packing clutter.

Wow.

Great house - the furniture is rather scary, though. Geez. And these "curtains"!

But hey - really, really cool. Great, huge kitchen! And a lot of gardening to do ;-)!

well, the furniture and curtains are going out with the old owners. Soon enough, it will contain all our junk and look completely different :-)

Looks like you're going to need to do a lot of painting in the new place too. That awful Pepto Bismol pink in hideous. At least the current residents will take all that frou-frou furniture and crap with them when they leave.

LOL. The husband collects Lionel trains. I'm also going to try to sell him my old stuff that I've had in the storage unit, waiting for the economy to turn around (these are the O-gauge trains, the big ones, that my dad bought for me and my brother back in the 60's - supposedly they're worth some money now).

Yeah, best to ditch that stuff while in the process of moving. When the weather cools off, I'm going to clean out my attic and see what I can sell on eBay. I don't need a lot of that crap anymore.

I looked into coming up on the train. It will cost about $360 round trip and take a whole day one way to get there. It would be faster and cheaper to drive, but it would also be exhausting. There's the unpleasant aspect of driving Interstates that are known pains in the ass, such as I-10 and I-95. I've got another interview next week. Let's see how that goes and I'll let you know.

I always ignore the furniture when I look at houses. The woodwork is fabulous, though (it's very similar to what I have here, but ours has been painted over a billion times).

That is a beautiful house. I wish I could transplant something like that onto our acre. :-)

Awesome!!

I love it!! Especially that style that the houses up North have that none of the ones down here have.

The house was built in 1915. I don't think anyone was living in FL back then, LOL.
