A song, briefly
Jun. 6th, 2005 09:35 pmI just uploaded an MP3 of Love Has Nine Lives from my first album to one of my websites, temporarily, because I wanted to share it with you all. It was written in the aftermath of the most painful breakup in my life, which just goes to prove that something beautiful can come from something awful.
the lyrics, for those that read such things:
So the moon is full and you're back out on the street
Lady Love's been cruel to you
You fell too far this time to wind up on your feet
You don't believe you'll ever see it through
Remember love has nine lives, so don't you cry
Remember love has nine lives, you will survive
Don't you worry 'bout a love that died
Remember love has nine lives
Seems the sun is never shining on your face
The clouds are always in the way
Well you are just a victim of a bitter twist of fate
Who cannot seem to see the light of day
Remember love has nine lives, so don't you cry
Remember love has nine lives, you will survive
Don't you worry 'bout a love that died
Remember love has nine lives
The love you had inside has turned to dust and sand
But only sand can make a pearl
It's gonna hurt at first and it will take some time
For it to shine for all the world.
A side note: I recorded the lead vocal tracks at 2AM, after spending about 8 hours in the studio recording instrumental tracks. Most of my best vocal recordings have been done in the wee hours before dawn, when I'm pushing 20+ hours without sleep. The man's voice on here is Rob Lame, my co-writer amd guitarist.
