Well, when I get my ass into full gear, this is what can be accomplished. I worked on this for 1 hour last night and finished it today. Well, at least put it into the state it's in at the moment. It will very likely be re-mixed, and there's a strong possibility of even more vocal tracks being added from hubby and child (but they're not here right now).

The spoken words are from "Innana, Lady of Largest Heart" by Betty De Shong Meador (used with permission) and are English translations of the poetry written by Inanna's priestess, Enheduanna, the first written documents in existance.

Here without further ado is "Uruk" by Music for the Goddess (7Mb mp3 file). ©2005 by Wendy Sheridan, All Rights Reserved (I have to do that, otherwise it becomes public domain).

... no speakers :)

Have to try and listen to it from my parents at the weekend.

I read as a kid a book about the german archeological expedition to Uruk, and the description of the ritual wedding between Eannanas high priestess and the king haunts me till then.

Finally got a chance to listen to it - way cool!

Your voice sounds a lot younger on this than on the 9 lives... But the music is so impressive, my greek coworker was completely fascinated as well :-). Beautiful. Thank you!

Thank you!

The difference in the voice is totally due to the time of day when the recording was made (Uruk was recording in the mid-morning after a good night's sleep, Love has 9 lives was recorded between 2-5 AM after being up about 20 hours and I think there was also whiskey or something else involved to "rough up" my voice for that cut.)

I prescribe you some more rowdy nights, then ;-)!
Seriously - if I wouldn't have known, I would have thought they were two different persons. But then, the music is much different, as well...
Both voices are quite wonderful, of course! I am not much into music anymore, no time to follow any new stuff. But sometimes I get some from my friends, and almost always am astonished and happy that there *is* music I can relate to, still :-)!
Again, thank you.
