Since today is Rosh Hashonnah, and the buyer's lawyer is Jewish, there will be no closing tomorrow. Feh. I recall something about my lawyer being unavailable early next week. I suppose I'll know better tomorrow. I spoke to my realtor to tell her that the lawyers are not communicating well enough (i.e. my lawyer hasn't heard from the buyer's lawyer in a while). Hopefully the admins will get the scheduling details worked out and we can close on the house maybe Monday or Tuesday.

In other news, the stress is finally getting to me. A lot of second chakra issues (digestive). Not full-blown IBS, but a lot of indigestion and discomfort. I've decided that it's all stress related and the stress is house related, and that once this is all settled, so will my stomach. If not, I'll have to go see a medical professional, I suppose. But it's certainly time to get back on the diet.

It can't be helped.

Working on the High Holidays is forbidden. Even Reform Jews heed that rule.

Think of it like the Christians who only go to church on Christmas and Easter.

If you want a closing during Rosh HaShana, good luck, but I'd bet against it.

I remember working on many Rosh HaShanas - well a couple of them, anyway. I also remember, at a new job, taking (and telling other non-practicing Jews) to take the holiday, even if it meant using up a personal day (which, in that case, it did), because you can't NOT take it one year and then claim you need to take it a subsequent year (such as if you decide to become a practicing Jew again later).

It's a moot point now. My daughter has school today - yesterday was off for the holiday. The more Jewish neighborhoods than ours get 2 days. She's annoyed :)
