End of an Era
Sep. 18th, 2007 04:32 pmThe old house is SOLD!
Aaahhh....I've been sighing non-stop for the past hour. It's finally starting to sink in, and I ran the numbers (the amount of money seemed much smaller than my various estimates), and I still have a bit of cash left over after I pay off Dad, Mother-in-Law, Brother and all the credit cards. :-D
It's not enough to fill up my "emergency reserve cash fund" that I'm now demanding we maintain (to see us through any future lean winters when work may drop off for one or both of us), but it puts us over the halfway mark to there. Well, it probably won't anymore, because there are some things we've been putting off (car repairs, dental visits, software upgrades) until this day has come. But I will put a spending cap on that stuff, and continue our "we can't buy it until we've saved the money for it" campaign of fiscal discipline.
But we are celebrating by eating out at a decent restaurant that is not a national chain of anything.
OK.... what's next?

Date: 2007-09-19 12:22 pm (UTC)Congrats, or stuff ;-). Hope the restaurant did well on you - would have loved to take you to the Kronenhalle :-D
(Caution - this is a joke. Hardly tolerable music, too :-P)
So: That *is* next :-)?
Congratulations!
